Families and supporters
Support for the people who show up.
Supporting someone you love can mean holding the appointments, the paperwork and the worry. Parea helps share that work while keeping the young adult’s own wishes at the center.

Stay involved, with permission.
A parent, sibling, partner, friend or attendant can be part of the circle. Each person signs in with their own account and sees only the information shared with them.
A supporter’s role is not the same as making decisions for someone. If a guardian or proxy gives consent, the young adult’s own wishes are still recorded.
Less chasing. More clarity.
Shared updates help you understand what the navigator is working on, where a request stands and what may be needed next. Helen can help explain the information you have permission to see or draft a question for the team.
Sharing settings can be changed as needs and relationships change. Being family does not automatically give someone access to the full record.
Caregiver coaching belongs in the pilot.
Coaching gives families a place to prepare for the practical and personal changes around adult care. The navigator helps arrange it through a conversation with the team.
Prepare for conversations
Organize questions, decide what to bring and make room for the young adult’s own voice at appointments.
Share the work
Talk through who can help, which responsibilities feel unclear and where the family needs more support.
Navigate changing roles
Practice supporting choices, asking what help is wanted and adjusting involvement over time.
Room for different families.
Some people want a parent closely involved. Others rely on a sibling, a partner, a friend or a paid supporter. The right arrangement starts with the young adult and the support they want.
The aim is not to ask families to step back on a schedule. It is to help everyone find a role that works, with the young adult’s goals guiding the conversation.
A focused place to start.
The pilot includes care coordination, shared updates and caregiver coaching. It does not yet include peer groups, peer mentoring or a caregiver forum.
Coaching is practical support from the team. It does not replace mental health care, legal advice or the young adult’s medical care.
