Meet Helen · AI assistant

A little help with the next step.

Sometimes you know what you need to say, but finding the words is hard. Sometimes you want someone to explain an update. Helen helps you get ready for the next conversation.

Useful in everyday moments.

Helen is an AI assistant inside the Parea app. She works with the information available to you in Parea and the words you choose to share.

  • Understand a request update

Ask what step a request is on and who is handling it, using the latest information available in the chat’s context.

  • Prepare for an appointment

Make a short list of questions, think about what to bring and explain how you prefer to communicate.

  • Put a concern into words

Draft a note to your care team in your own voice. You can change the draft and choose whether to send it.

You decide what gets sent.

A draft is not a message to the team until you send it. Helen does not book care, make approvals or take over your navigator’s work.

A note sent through Helen goes to the care team for a person to review. Clinical questions and decisions belong with qualified professionals.

Shared information stays within its limits.

A supporter can ask Helen for help, too. Their chat only receives the categories of care information that they are allowed to see.

Helen’s information comes from a snapshot taken when a chat begins. She may not have a later update. Start a new chat for refreshed context or confirm the details with your navigator.

Clear about her limits.

Helen is an AI, not a person or a clinician, and can be wrong. She does not diagnose, explain what symptoms mean or recommend treatment or medication changes.

Helen is not an emergency service. If something needs medical attention, contact your care team or the appropriate urgent service. Do not wait for a chat response.

Named for people who kept showing up.

Helen’s name comes from two people who helped inspire Parea: Antigone’s mother and Brad’s aunt. Their example is part of the idea behind Parea: listen, take the person seriously and keep following through.

Technology can help organize the next step. Responsibility for care stays with people.
